In a true crash, it will be impossible to get on the exchanges, no one will buy scamcoins, and even if they do, you then have to transfer to Coinbase, etc, and hope that by that time they are still buying ETH/BTC
Right now my way to limit that risk, to the extent it is possible, is keep a chunk of my holdings in ETH because it could theoretically be sold for actual money the quickest. Also, I'm hodling ETH for the capital gains since I started buying last May. |

To be fair, you have to be on top of it.
Invest what your comfortable with losing. I kept a basket of BTC, ETH (primary) with smaller investments in a basket of alt coins (last time I was using ICX, VEN, TRX, LINK, ADA). Typically, rises in some/one would offset losses in some/others. When I'd make a comfortable trade/rise, I would half the time cash out, and half re-invest back into ETH, BTC. I didn't need it to double, if it increased 40-50 percent, I'd just take the gains to lock them in. When they start to shoot up rapidly, they shoot up and fall rapidly t as more people begin to sell. Get out before they do that. I did this until my I had my basis back and was playing solely with house money. This is important - get back your basis as soon as possible and play with house money. I ended up doing okay and made up 35% profits off of my basis. Nothing to write home about but a nice little haul for just clicking and doing a little trading research on a laptop at home. |
