Here's my super basic understanding of it...
COIN = representing transactions on an underlying network (like banking system/currency combined in one), ETH, BTC, LoopLink... ((almost like financial infratructure)...
TOKEN = representing transactions within a company or network built on top of an existing cryptocurrency, an abstraction on top of an underlying network (ICX, BAT stuff like that)
