It's a Berkeley backed project with a partnership with NEO. I think it's safe to assume they actively tried to keep it under wraps. There is no website. They are putting human resources/hiring on blockchain.
Currently only on one exchange. It's definitely not going down from here. |

If anything, I know when something is undervalued, but get caught up in the moment and don't recognize when it becomes overvalued.
EKO is definitely undervalued. Their plan is to use the token on the marketplace to incentivize institutions to make student academic backgrounds available on the blockchain. EKO will be used as compensation to motivate participation in the network. Employers then have to use the currency to access candidates' background.
Furthermore, it's currently only one one exchange (which is probably what caused the crash yesterday). A project of this caliber, with UC Berkeley and NEO partnerships, will certainly get picked up on other exchanges.
It has no traction right now, because no one knows about it. This is not a project whose founders are after a money grab. This is serious blockchain disruption. |

There is a development roadmap available in the above link. They are rolling out test versions of the product in February/March. The test versions will include features for students/individual users, university/training organizations, and hiring company/recruiter incorporated.

I believe in the return potential of this specific project for three main reasons:
1. Detailed, specific (yet non-abstract) use cases for the token. The use cases take into account the value proposition for each side of the decentralized platform.
SIDE ONE: Students/univsersities have an incentive to develop and maintain the blockchain ledger, because they get paid with the token....SIDE TWO: Human resources recruiters save time and money by having already verified information on job candidates. This is especially important as corporate recruiting becomes increasingly international, which means student backgrounds are more difficult to verify. Corporations buy the token because it saves the company money.
2. The fact that their target market of university students is the target market that crypto currency is most appealing. Being based at UC Berkeley near Silicon Valley, they have an automatically built-in network to spread the word to early adopters.
3. Partnership with NEO. I can't speak to the details of the strength of the technology, because that's not my background. But I'm willing to bet it's legit enough.
In summary, they have the team in place to execute a FULLY-DEVELOPED plan. The marketing and internet shills will come as the product rolls out. It's not a leap to assume that the internet hype part of blockchain is beneath libs at Berkeley. In fact, the website is such garbage that it suggests they actively could be downplaying the strength of what they're doing to flame people that don't understand blockchain (pure conjecture). The project appears to be only a couple months old; marketing has not been the priority to this point. But they will have to market at some point to achieve the objectives they have laid out.
