The AA boost might get you through school, but it doesn't guarantee employment. I've been in the tech industry for like 16 years now and have seen tons of URMs get hired but then see them being isolated and not contributing anything because they're incompetent; coworkers don't trust the quality of their work and occasionally become hostile toward the AA URM. Normally it'd get a white or Asian guy fired, but the URM just floats around in shame until quitting or getting extra special treatment but still failing and getting laid off.
