the issue is that there are a lot of people that thought trump is some god emperor and abandoned him when that turned out not to be true. which is especially insane when we're talking about israel support, which he's always been a vocal supporter of. he spent much of the last fucking campaign attacking kamala for not supporting them enough!

There was nothing unreasonable about believing he meant it when he dismissed unnecessary adventurism. He's always spoken badly about Iran and been at least moderately pro-Israel, but he didn't attack the first time around.
