You pick the dish and have one year to nail it. He doesn't know what the dish is until you tell him. You both get one hour to make it.

I run the same dish for a year, and then he has to make do after hearing about it for the first time the day of? I'm not a great cook, but I think I could pull this off

He doesn't have to use the same ingredients or techniques. Think of it this way: You have a year to perfect a cheeseburger and then tell Bobby Flay on the day of that he has to make a cheeseburger. There are no other rules.

I'd pick an obscure British treat like you see on the Great British Bakeoff. One that has some stupid little quirks that don't get written in any recipe. And then hope he doesn't know it already.

It should be obvious from the title of the thread: it'll be food network judges. Basically, any judge who appears on Beat Bobby Flay. The tasting is blind.

cr, but the judges often love it.

From wikipedia: "Through 198 competitions Bobby Flay's win-loss record is 129 and 69." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beat_Bobby_Flay

I skimmed a few of the seasons quickly, but he's won ethnic food challenges (e.g., beef bulgogi) and baking challenges (e.g., chocolate tart, banana cream pie), and has lost some Mexican / Tex-Mex challenges (e.g., seafood burrito, meat tacos).

Soft spot might be Indian: He was 0-3 in the ones I saw.
