I am 100% sure I don't want to bring a new life into this world, but at 32, I decided that I should freeze some eggs just in case something changes in the distant future. I plan to foster/adopt, but I wanted to have a backup in case something makes that impossible and I still want to be a parent and can't do it naturally by then.

Honestly I pursued this in part because I was so interested in seeing my stats. The women in my family are extremely fertile and I knew that my numbers would be great based on my phenotype, but holy shit they were practically off the charts. Exceptional for a woman of ANY age, not just an almost-33yo. At my consultation when we did the ultrasound the doctor literally said "it's an egg factory in here!" lmfao. Here are my numbers if you want to fact check how good they are: AFC=32, cd3 AMH=5.03, cd3 inhibin B=159, cd3 FSH=4.06, cd3 estradiol=27.9, no PCOS

Due to my ABUNDANT RESERVE and EXCELLENT HORMONAL RESPONSIVENESS the doctor put me on a very conservative cycle. I ended up freezing 25 mature eggs, which is basically the optimal outcome. Any more and it would've been painful for me. The process involved injecting myself multiple times per day, which quickly got rid of my fear of needles. It was pretty intense but now it's a skill I have if I ever need to inject something again. This was in 2024 btw.

Yeah like I really don't think I'll need them but I feel better having them.

PLUS even just the testing part was really worthwhile; now I know I will likely have a very large window for natural conception, which I figured anyway, as I read as obviously highly fertile due to WHR etc.

I think more xo males should freeze their cum honestly. Much cheaper than egg freezing. And since everyone here is balding with poor diets and on hard drugs, most will be infertile by like 45 max.

i think the obvious question here is wouldn't this affect the offspring? in regular sex with man reproduction the egg would be timed with your life circumstances upon meeting him causing a serendipitous child creation. in the freezing scenario, the eggs are pre-serendipitous. discuss.

You mean like would it be a different person? I don't think it's meaningfully different from like if you naturally conceived at 3:01 AM vs. 3:02 AM.

Well in my example it would be a different sperm. Either way it's just that the DNA combined under different circumstances so it's Different but no one path is more or less serendipitous.

right, the sperm would be more similar than true reproductive intercourse, though also not identical. but the egg exaggerates this difference to a level that would have substantial consequence if you think, as I do, that your body is coordinating egg drops to align with your anticipated reproductive year.

Well I'd only be using this in a scenario where it isn't possible to reproduce naturally in my desired reproductive year. So it's either existence borne of a once-frozen, exceptional-quality 32yo egg, or no existence at all.

there are a substantial number of years where it's not obvious it would be impossible, no? my point isnt to argue the minutiae, but about how consciously engineering a birth could introduce a sub-optimal timeline. it could also introduce a better timeline. it was just a question about this issue

Yeah, based on my stats, I'm confident I have a wide window in which I could conceive naturally with ease. If I somehow changed my mind and decided to reproduce, it would certainly be worth trying until at least 45. I just turned 35. But it's not infinite. At some point I won't have 30+ exceptional-quality eggs hanging around in my ovaries each month waiting to get chosen. I'll have none at all.

I was thinking of the "better timeline" possibility too, but I think it's cleaner if you don't try to make a judgment on that, just consider the fact that I'll only be using this if there's no way I can Recruit an egg Contemporaneously. If it's the only possible path to reproduction at the point I decide I want to reproduce.

Genetically? By then, probably, and maybe even now, but I'm morally opposed to that. But morphologically they'll choose the ones that look best, so that'll give it a boost. They won't choose some ugly one that didn't quite finish baking or whatever.

Btw the doctor also made a kind of big deal of my genetic screening results and how I'm not a carrier for any conditions. So idk. I'm sure they're all good tbh. I feel like I did what I had to do to give my future self the opportunity to reproduce under the best possible circumstances, if I somehow decide I want to do that and it's too late to conceive naturally. It was a pretty impulsive thing. Maybe I was intended to decide to freeze my eggs at that time.

They're all probably good enough. The chance of my deciding to reproduce after menopause is vanishingly small anyway. I can't even begin to get in the mindset of my future self who would be choosing, because I don't see myself ending up in this situation at all.

I used to toss around the possibility in my head, or sometimes aloud, when I was in relationships. But when I thought of the idea of adopting an older kid, it all just clicked that that's what I want to do. I have no interest in pregnancy, childbirth, raising a baby from birth, or bringing a new life into this SPS world against its will. I want to be a good parent to a kid who's already here. No stable, happy relationship has changed my conviction about this path.

I got 25 mature eggs; I'm good. The doctor said my labs showed excellent egg quality, not just quantity, pointing out the Inhibin B in particular. Morphologically 19 were great; those are the ones that were frozen right after retrieval. The last 6 matured overnight so they were just OK and have a lower expected success rate. This isn't anything about their inherent quality, just the timing of the cycle. But the chances of success are high with the batch I got. Plus there's only a minuscule chance I want to use them. Definitely not worth doing all that again.

Express myself. Sing, write, poast. Spend time with people I love doing things NOT involving kids.

My plan is to foster/potentially adopt a teenager or preteen. I don't have any interest in raising a child from birth.

That is completely and utterly retarded

I would say no offense but it would probably be good if you were offended by me saying this because then you would re think what you are saying here and realize how completely retarded it is and that you're on the wrong track

Sorry, I just don't have that "propagate the species" or "pass on my genetic code" drive. It's probably technically "wrong" evolutionarily but I don't care. I do have the urge to make the world a better place for future generations, which I want to do in part by fostering a teenager and giving them a supportive environment in which to grow and thrive.

Why's that the wrong track in your opinion?

180. It's a shame that my EXTREME FERTILITY is wasted on someone who just doesn't have the drive to reproduce. I think I'm "broken" evolutionarily but I'd rather make the world a better place with my actions than drag someone new in here.

I had a vasectomy in 2011, but if you're fit we could still pretend that we're "making a baby" or whatever.

Can I have one of your eggs to make a super baby whose parents are two poasters (I would say high level poasters imo). You don't have to be the mom or do any parenting, but if you want to you can come into the babies life later.

You can definitely have one (or more if it doesn't work the first time) but not for free. I paid a lot to freeze those, and endured discomfort, so if anyone wants to use any they have to pay up.

If I had a kid via surrogate that was 50% you and 50% me would you want to meet zher? If she grew up and was really good at school and liked Star Trek would you feel any maternal instinct or not care?

I don't care about "really good at school" you're thinking of yourself there. But yeah I'd wanna meet your kid either way. And it would depend on what zhe wanted above all else.

Was there any cost to you for this procedure? Do you have any recurring costs for storing them?

Would you consider letting others use your harvested eggs?

Very on brand to somehow extract stats/ranking out of this.

At one time, I wanted to start a band called HUMAN CAVIAR. Please rate, and what kind of music would that band play?

Yeah I paid like $14.5K out of pocket, it sucked, but I feel better having this backup. The storage is $100/yr recurring iirc.

I would sell some to others yes, if they're gonna have a kid anyway and find my genetic profile desirable. I think my genes are solid other than my horrible proprioception and athletic ineptitude.

Lmao yeah, someone reminded me that CSLG poasted his T levels and this is kinda similar, which is cringe but whatever. I'm proud of my confirmed insane fertility.

HUMAN CAVIAR is 180. Definitely antinatalist techgrind.

Based on this very short clip rate my song choice for karaoke the other night: https://vocaroo.com/17XCTZyeME15

180, obviously. Did you scare the shit out of everyone?

I'm impressed with the mic's clarity. Was the setup a karaoke bar kind of thing, or did you have a room for your own group?

I have a very hard time with karaoke because I absolutely cannot stand to hear people sing poorly, especially music I'm familiar with.

Haha I hope I scared people. It went over great, as it almost always does. People in L.A. love my shtick.

It's a local divey karaoke bar with a solid sound system.

That's so funny that you have such a low tolerance for bad singing. I enjoy the shitty performances almost as much as the good performances; I'm just vibing. In L.A. the median karaoke performer is actually quite good lol.
