We are constantly going through how retirement destroys you. Their grandfather is still working at 67, although his wife is now retired. We keep it as a religious day of observance. Kids get a couple gifts in the vein of St. Nicholaus but it does not overshadow the birth of Christ.
Warning: people freak out when learning you never taught your kids to believe in Santa, but this is not that unusual among religious communities |
