They walk over to American flag, planted by Armstrong in '69, fold it up, and replace it with their own. All broadcast live for the national audience.
We'd be back on the moon within five years and have a manned mission to mars within the decade.

Idolizing the brave men (and few women, lol) that gave their lives for this country. But, as a white man, he is brow beaten by the current country he lives in and doesn't love it as much anymore. The son doesn't love this country because he grew up in a country that hates him.
So when he says that he will just stay with Daddy, the son is showing that he loves his dad more than his country. And the dad realizes, in that moment, that his country doesn't matter anymore and that his son and family are all that are important. |
