How come you are over the p bass? you just got it like 6 weeks ago. I get having a lot of basses to choose from. i've been almost exclusively playing the spector lately. but a lot of days i play 3 to 4 of them. |

Date: November 26th, 2025 10:27 PM Author: American Cattle Goy (Goy First, America Always) The Sterling Ray34 and 35 (4 and 5 string) are the highest level of the Indonesian made line (less some of artist series like Pete Wentz) before you get to the American made line. They're usually somewhere between 900 and 1100 dollars. The American made stuff is gorgeous but 2600 and up.
I am still enjoying my P bass to be clear but I just can't get it to cut through the mix. I had to throw on some heavy fuzz pedals to get to be audible. It just doesn't pop, people say they can't hear it in a band mix. I play mostly rock. I need the articulation. Think Tim Commerford on the first Rage record!
To be clear I could get away with any active bass, but I am just a StingRay fanboy. A ton of my favorite players played them. I like the Ray34 just because it seems like they do a much nicer job than the Ray4 line. The sub 300 dollar ones look shoddily constructed. For 500 bucks it was a definite steal but it sold out so fast. |

The American ones are really glossy and fancy and use rare woods and shit. I think it's all just cosmetic. The Indo ones actually seem really nice though if you're not picky about the finish.
