(a) They discount non-attorney/"JD Advantatage" jobs in their calculations. So people who get very selective (and prestigious) jobs in banking, finance, tech, MBB, etc. drag down their school's number.
(b) They count jobs the schools fully fund for their unemployed grads, which the schools fund just long enough to count in the rankings. |

The best metrics are:
(a) Cross-admit data, especially cross-admit data adjusted for finanical/merit aid packages. 90% of Harvard-UVA cross admits will choose Harvard, despite these latest rankings. I recall hearing back in the day that Yale's yield was 75%, Harvard and Stanford's 50%, and everyone else way, way lower than 50%.
(b) Reputation rankings from judges and lawyers. |
