PS2 had thousands of games but the good Japanese ones didn't really catch on here. And then 360 won the following gen in the West which shows how popular the original Xbox was with those who had it. I feel that this was another retroactively Lost Gen for Sony, along with the PS1 with the disastrous release of the Classic. Xbox had halo,otogi, wreckless, JSRF, panzer dragoon, gunvalkrie, forza, prject gotham, and usually late ports of games that were a little crisper on xbox
You'd have to really, really like Sega to claim that xbox won |

I think Xbox westerners were hyped for 360 more than PS2 fans were for PS3. PS2 westerners who never finished a JRPG and hated Raiden were like, “uhh, anyone up for some SOCOM: US Navy Seals?” and played online lackadaisically with inept Losers, none of whom cared about what they were playing. PS2 had tons of Titles but lacked a killer western app. Westerners in 2006 were like, “uhhhh, Bluray? Let’s get hyped guys.” The PS3’s victory, btw, was the definition of a Pyrrhic victory.
